What a wonderful day!

I'll start by saying that the beginning of this post isn't really about Lucas, so if you want to read about him, skip to the next paragraph.

I don't think I've mentioned on my blog that I've started the adoption process again. I know that some of you out there know this because I've told you or you read it on our Journey to Me journal that just expired. Lucas would be way too spoiled as an only child. Since the wait is getting longer and longer with CHI, I decided to apply again at Lucas' six month home visit. After 2 months of paperwork and fingerprints, my homestudy update was completed and sent to CIS (US Immigration). I'm happy to report that today I received my approval from CIS! Yippee! And this time it took about 2 weeks, as opposed to over 2 months with Lucas. I don't know how I got so lucky. So on Monday, I'll be added to the waiting list and settle in for the long wait for a referral. Needless to say, I'm thrilled!

Now about Lucas: Aunt Ali has been working with him this week on eating with a spoon. From what I hear, it was really messy, but really fun! Enjoy the pictures of Lucas eating mashed potatoes by himself! He needed a bath when he was finished.
