Christmas comes and goes so fast. Both kids were just a blur of wrapping paper! Lydia especially tore into the presents this year. She was so fast that alot of my pictures are blurry. Lucas took time to stop and play with the presents he was especially interested in. They are so funny! I hope everyone had as super a Christmas as we did. The kids are pleased with their presents and I'm thankful for all the good things I have in my life. There's a picture of Lucas with Grandad below. Grandad was opening the present Lucas bought himself at the kiddie bazaar. That's where the kids go in and voluteers help them shop by themselves and then get things wrapped up. Lucas spent about $12 on 6 gifts and Lydia about $9. Lucas was so proud to give Grandad the fishing picture frame below (grandad doesn't fish). But Grandad does love picture frames with pictures of himself and the kids. Oddly enough, Lydia also got Grandad a can, spray painted white, with fish on it too. Who knew he liked fish so much? Nana got two ornaments that aren't too bad. I got earrings. Hope my ears don't turn colors from wearing them. The kids really are proud of themselves. We really did have a nice time. I just wish my sister's family from Nevada could have been here too. They are really missed at the holidays especially. Just a funny note from Christmas Eve. I think both kids were a little nervous about going to bed and having Santa come. Lydia, who alway asks me to leave her door open, asked to have it closed. :) And Lucas, who knows I let two of the dogs sleep upstairs all the time, asked me to leave them downstairs. I'm guessing they might have been a little scared that Santa would sneak up on them while they were sleeping.
Here's Lydia with her cousin in their matching Princess cozy coupes from Nana and Grandad! It was a traffic jam with all the other presents and two crazy drivers.
Lydia has been talking and talking about Baby Jesus and can identify the manger and hay in every Christmas story. Nana worked hard to find this Baby Jesus doll the week before Christmas. A nice lady on Ebay paid extra to get it here on time and a nice postmaster had it driven to a post office other than his so it would be sent out faster. There are so many nice people in the world. Nana found a manger that was truly a wooden reindeer. Grandad took the head and tail off. Then Nana and Aunt Ali knotted this blanket for the hay. Lydia knew right away what it was and really loves it. Isn't it awesome? It's my favorite gift and it's not even mine.
Here's Lydia in her "home" she made out of blankets. She's got a lot of her new toys around her.
And Lydia's legs just showing under the left side of our tree as she crawls under to reach one of the last of her presents.
Lydia again in a pile of gift wrap.
