Visiting Orlando

Summer has just been crazy! We've traveled more since Lydia came home than Lucas and I did over the last 4 years. I guess after Lydia's adoption, I let loose. It is so nice to be able to spend money and vacation days again and not be saving them for an adoption trip.

Last week it was Orlando. We stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort and the kids just loved it. They played in the pools and loved the gift shop and arcade. It doesn't get much better than that, does it? My parents went with us (because I'm not brave enough to travel very far with 2 young children). Going thru airport security is enough to wear me out fast. But we survived and had a great time. We loved watching the Disney Fourth of July fireworks from the Polynesian Resort beach. We went to a character breakfast at the Beach Club resort and went to Hollywood Studios. Lucas loved Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride. Lydia adores Ariel, so she liked the Little Mermaid show. We had to cut our vacation short though because Lydia picked up an eye infection and I felt she needed to be home to see her doctor. You can see how swollen it is in the later pictures. I was ready to come home though. Vacations are hard!

Here's our hotel. Isn't it kid friendly? If only the rooms were a little bit bigger.

Here we are the Magical Express. That is a pretty slick operation they have going there now with the transportation.

Aren't they sweet together when they aren't fighting?

Here we are waiting for the fireworks and the kids played in the sand.

Waiting for our reservation at the Character breakfast! Lydia looks so big in this picture. She's grown so much in the last year.

My buddies - Phineas and Ferb. I have to confess, I love that show. So creative! And aren't they cute in person.

Here are the kids playing at the Honey I Shrunk the kids playground. Lydia's eye was not pretty then.

And the final pictures, playing blocks and video games before catching the bus back to the airport. I can't wait to go on vacation again. :)
